  • Gaining insight on meal frequency and nutrient timing for one’s specific level of activity

  • 6 classes of nutrients

o Carbohydrates (monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides)

o Lipids (triglycerides, phospholipids, fatty acids)

o Proteins (essential, semi-essential, nonessential)

o Vitamins (fat & water soluble)

o Minerals (macro & micro)

o Water (% of body, muscles, & intake)

 

  • Digestion & absorption

o Digestive system

o Enzymatic function

 

  1. Caloric Intake (Time: 3hrs)
  • Daily average recommendations
  • Caloric quotations (Harris-Benedict & Mifflin-St. Jeor)
  • Determine daily caloric intake total (by meal in calories & grams)
  • Explore meal structure and frequency suited for each client’s goals
